Thanks for the response, Ted Jones! Here’s the bottom line: it’s complicated. So many factors interact and no two people are exactly the same. And different foods do interact in ways like you have described.

Why I posted about this article is because it is a nice broad overview with generalized data that shows some evidence-based trends for groups of foods that seem to correlate nicely with different populations of bacteria.

But as we all know, correlation is NOT causation. Still, it doesn’t hurt to try to eat a little better, right?!
